The Northeast Ohio region has been quick to embrace a variety of emerging advanced manufacturing technologies. Yet students, traditional manufacturers, and entrepreneurs are not yet fully aware of the operational advantages available through implementation of various digital sensing technologies commonly known as the Internet of Things (IoT).
In order to heighten awareness of the technical opportunities made available through the adoption of IoT technologies, Youngstown State University and its partners, including the Youngstown Business Incubator and Cisco, are developing a series of programs targeting college students, local entrepreneurs, and business and industry partners to increase awareness and help accelerate implementation of IoT applications.
This program, OH-IoT, includes seminars and workshops for all clients, as well as a structured college student competition. Primarily, students and individuals from local colleges and universities are our targets.
